Just finished in the workroom this week is this gorgeous bedhead in a Manuel Canovas toile. The design and fabric were specified by an interior decorator and the result is truly magical.
This has made us think about using pattern in bedrooms and how it can turn a bland room into something truly magical.
Someone who is a true master of this is the extremely talented Kit Kemp. She and her husband have a series of boutique hotels in London and New York. (Soho Hotel and Covent Garden in London, Crosby St Hotel in New York to name a few).
These hotels have a reputation for being luxurious and unique, all rooms are stamped with Ms Kemps very individual style.
This is a designer who is not afraid to mix it up, she uses pattern and colour with aplomb and each room sings with style and wit.
We have had several clients who have been lucky enough to stay in these hotels and they always seem to be a little bit more adventurous in choosing fabric for their bedhead.
If you are a little timid then we suggest experimenting with patterned pillow cases in either a European or a decorative throw pillow.
We have included a few inspiring photos here, but please pop over to our Pinterest Boards to see more examples of pattern being used in bedrooms to create truly individual bedrooms.
