GREENERY – PANTONE’S COLOUR OF THE YEAR
So you’ve heard the news – Pantone has announced Greenery as the 2017 colour of the year. But you’re thinking, I just got my head around the idea of Rose Quartz… now Greenery? And how, oh how, (aside from the obvious plant variety) do I add this colour in my home?
Never fear! I personally think this is one of the most exciting new colour trends we’ve seen in a while and there are so many ways to decorate with this invigorating shade.
As our lives become increasingly stressed and tied to technology, Greenery represents a refreshing contrast with its connection to nature. Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, Leatrice Eiseman says “this is the colour of hopefulness… it speaks to what we call the ‘re-words’ – regenerate, refresh, revitalise, renew.”
Considered nature’s neutral, Greenery is such a versatile, tran-seasonal shade that works back with so many colour palettes. There’s no need to hide all the Rose Quartz cushions in the cupboard, Greenery is divine paired with this pink hue. It’s also stunning with neutrals, natural timbers, strong colours and metallics. I particularly love Greenery teamed with graphic Black and White.
Whether you add an accent with a lampshade and cushions or choose to make it the feature of a room with a bedhead or sofa, I highly recommend embracing this vibrant colour!
