Terms and Conditions

Design Bedheads ABN 96 164 038 135

1. Terms of Payment

a. Written confirmation with a 50% deposit is required to secure the order and commence production.

b. All deliveries require invoice balance paid in full prior to dispatch.

2. Oversized Bedheads

a. Heatherly Design provide a central cut out as standard in bedheads wider than the existing mattress. This cut out is in behind the mattress and allows power leads to be fed through to either side of the bed. If this cut out is not required, we require this variation in writing at the time of the order.

b.  Unless otherwise notified, all Lincoln, and Oslo bedheads are made as one piece.  HD have flexibility in delivering these designs in two pieces where access issues are a concern, but this information needs to be conveyed at time of placing order.

3. Design Specification

a. A detailed design brief is issued following confirmation of order with a deposit. It is the client’s responsibility to analyse this design brief and advise any changes required. Not responding with changes confirms all is satisfactory with the design brief and Heatherly Design will proceed to manufacturing.

b. As our products are all custom made, measurements stated are an approximate only. The construction and final measurements of each product may vary slightly depending on fabric/leather used for each design.

c. When designing a Heatherly bed, we require the mattress depth within two weeks of deposit. If this detail is not received, Heatherly Design will work on a standard depth in the industry.

d. Where a standalone bedhead/bed is made to the floor, unless otherwise notified of skirting board depth and height, no cut out allowance will be provided.

e. Where providing measurements for a valance drop, Heatherly Design deduct 10mm off the drop measurement to ensure the valance sits just above the floor. Any measurements that are provided incorrectly and need adjusting on installation will incur a fee in doing so.

f. Our standard upholstered bedhead height is 1200, (excluding Rupert, Piper and Armelle which are finished at 1100). For designs with a finished height higher than this, we provide L shaped metal legs to achieve the additional height required. These legs allow for a skirting board depth of 25mm to ensure bedheads sit flush on the wall. For deeper skirting boards, a special leg can be designed pending confirmation of depth and height of skirting board at an additional fee.

4. Fabrics & Leather

a. Dependent on chosen fabric, bedhead design and size, some fabrics may need to run vertically, and seams will be noticeable. Where ever possible, Heatherly Design will try to avoid this, but this is at the discretion of Heatherly Design.

b. Heatherly Design is not responsible for any dye lot variations in fabrics nor buyers not liking the fabric choice once delivery has occurred.

c. If there is a delay in fabric from the supplier, Heatherly Design will contact the buyer and advise the new delivery timeframe. At this point, the buyer can reselect the fabric or accept further delay.

d. Shading can occur with some velvets and chenilles where areas of the pile appear lighter or darker in shade. This can easily be mistaken for uneven dyeing but is in fact an inherent characteristic of these fabrics.

e. Heatherly Design specify full aniline leathers which are dyed throughout with only a light coating of wax over the surface which gives a very raw natural look and handle but is less robust and will absorb stains more readily than leathers with pigments added to the surface. Blemishes (i.e. scars) and inconsistent shading are a natural characteristic of a full aniline leather.

f. No guarantee can be given to exactly replicate the natural features of leather and timber products displayed in our showroom or on line.

5. Upholstered Furniture Product Care

Care instructions for your chosen fabric/s can be found on the back of each bedhead/bed. Heatherly Design recommends the following product care to maintain your furniture to its optimum level: Regular vacuuming with soft brush attachments. Protection from direct sunlight Professional steam cleaning Leather products can be treated with approved leather conditioners and cleaners, ensuring strict accordance with cleaning supplier’s instructions.

6. Side Table & Product Care

a. We recommend cleaning your timber furniture with a damp cloth only and then dried with a soft towel.

b. Do not place timber furniture in direct sunlight or near heating or air-conditioning vents. As timber is a natural product it will continually expand & contract. Failure to consider this will result in moisture gain and or loss increasing the risk of excessive timber movement. Under no circumstances should timber surfaces be covered with glass or plastic for an extended period of time, this will cause the lacquered finish to sweat and discolour.

c. Do not let liquids rest on any timber surface. Excessive dampness will result in seepage under the lacquered finish causing discolouring. Spills must be cleaned up immediately with a damp cloth and dried with a soft towel.

d. We do not recommend using wax or silicon-based polishes on your furniture as these products require continual upkeep.
