Settle into Stillness: A Morning of Presence at Heatherly Design

There are moments that ask us to pause. To step away from the constant momentum of daily life and reconnect with the softer rituals that restore us. Settle into Stillness, hosted at the Heatherly Design showroom, was created as one of those moments.

Held within our newly refreshed Melbourne showroom, the morning brought together design, wellbeing and conversation in celebration of The Art of Rest – a philosophy that sits at the heart of everything we create at Heatherly. Guests were invited to experience a guided meditation and breathwork session led by Rachael Seymour of The Energy Studio, before exploring four new Heatherly designs: Waldon, Armelle, Giselle and Orlando.

More than a collection launch, the morning was designed as an immersive experience exploring the relationship between interiors and emotion – how spaces can shape not only how we live, but how we feel.

At Heatherly, we’ve long believed that the bedroom is one of the most important spaces in the home. It is where the day begins and ends. A place of retreat, restoration and reflection. While beauty and craftsmanship remain central to our work, this collection began with a deeper question: how can a room support true rest? That question became the foundation for both the event and the collection itself.

A Collaboration Rooted in Ritual

The morning was made possible through a collective of thoughtful partners whose philosophies align naturally with our own approach to living well and creating with intention. Guests were welcomed with calming blends from Love Tea, a brand celebrated for its organic handcrafted teas designed to support moments of ritual and pause. Their presence added another sensory layer to the experience – warmth held in a cup, encouraging guests to slow down and settle into the rhythm of the morning.

Rodeo brought an equally considered perspective to the event. Known for creating beautifully designed all natural organic skincare products, their inclusion reflected the evolving way we think about modern living – where even everyday essentials contribute to atmosphere and ease.

Bed & Butter helped shape the tactile comfort woven throughout the showroom experience. Their luxurious cashmere bed socks reinforce the idea that rest is experienced through warm and comfort.

Porter’s Paints played a defining role in the transformation of the showroom and the visual language of the collection itself. More than simply selecting colours, the partnership centred around atmosphere. Every tone was chosen for the way it interacts with light, deepens a shadow, softens an edge or creates a sense of intimacy within a room. Their finishes became an emotional backdrop for the collection – theatrical, immersive and deeply evocative.

And finally, The Energy Studio and founder Rachael Seymour brought the philosophy of restoration into lived experience. Through guided meditation and breathwork, guests were invited to experience stillness before engaging with the collection itself. It was a reminder that rest begins long before sleep; it begins with presence.

Exploring the Theatre of Interiors

This new Heatherly collection explores the theatre of interiors – where a room is no longer simply a space, but a stage set for living. The inspiration began with the idea that a bedroom, at its best, evokes something felt before it is fully understood. Like theatre, a room can hold mood, tension, softness and atmosphere all at once. It shifts throughout the day depending on the light, the perspective and the person inhabiting it.

Rather than designing spaces that feel static or overly styled, we wanted to create interiors that feel layered and emotionally resonant. Spaces that invite interpretation. Every element within the refreshed showroom was considered through this lens. Backdrops were carefully constructed to create a sense of place that feels both familiar and inspiring. Textures were layered to encourage a tactile connection to the space.

Together, the collection explores the balance between stillness and movement, softness and structure. Upholstered in richly layered fabrics, the bedheads were designed not only to transform the look of a room, but to shape the emotional experience of inhabiting it. Because ultimately, the bedroom is deeply personal. It should restore, cocoon and reflect the person living within it.

A Refreshed Showroom Experience

To support the launch of the collection, the Heatherly showroom itself was thoughtfully reimagined as an immersive design experience. Visitors are no longer simply walking through a retail space – they are stepping into a series of layered interiors designed to inspire emotion, curiosity and imagination. Each one has been carefully considered to demonstrate how colour, texture, scale and styling work together to influence the feeling of a space.

The refreshed showroom reflects an evolution for Heatherly: one that moves beyond showcasing individual pieces and instead invites visitors to experience complete environments centred around rest, atmosphere and intentional living. It is an invitation to slow down and experience design differently. To notice how a paint colour changes with the afternoon light. How fabric softens a room. How thoughtful design can create not just beauty, but a sense of calm.

A New Story Unfolding

Each space within the showroom has been designed as an open story – allowing visitors to imagine their own rituals, routines and moments of stillness within it. It reflects the belief that the most meaningful interiors are the ones that evolve with the people who live in them.

Settle into Stillness marked the beginning of this new chapter at Heatherly Design. A celebration of rest, atmosphere and intentional living, brought to life through collaboration, craftsmanship and thoughtful design.
